Rockdale County Superior Court
Rockdale County Superior Court is the county's primary trial court of general jurisdiction. Georgia's court structure places Superior Court above limited-jurisdiction trial courts for the kinds of cases reserved to a constitutional trial court. Rockdale is also a single-county judicial circuit, which means Superior Court, State Court, Juvenile Court, Probate Court, Magistrate Court, the District Attorney, Clerk of Superior and State Courts, and Public Defender are all heavily localized to Rockdale County rather than spread across several counties.

Rockdale Superior Court Cases
Superior Court is the correct court for Rockdale felony criminal files, divorce, adoption, title-to-land disputes, equity cases, habeas corpus, and certain lower-court reviews. A felony file may include indictment or accusation, motions, docket entries, pleas, trial records, disposition, sentence, fines, restitution, probation terms, and bench-warrant entries. A divorce file may include the complaint, service, financial affidavits, custody or support filings, settlement documents, orders, and final decree.
Some Superior Court topics are public record searches, while others have strict limits. Adoption records are sensitive. Juvenile matters are not ordinary adult Superior Court criminal records. Family and divorce files can include sealed child, financial, or personal information. Superior State Magistrate Courts

Rockdale Case Flow
A case can touch more than one Rockdale office before it becomes a final Superior Court record. Search Superior Court Records
Superior Court records are maintained through the Clerk of Superior and State Courts. The clerk's 2026 notice says support for the older Public Access platform ended January 1, 2026 and directs users to re:SearchGA for Rockdale County court records moving forward. Online search can help locate a case, but certified copies and older records still route through the clerk. Superior criminal records older than 15 years are stored offsite and require three business days to process after request.
- Confirm the case belongs to Superior Court rather than State, Magistrate, Probate, Juvenile, or Municipal Court.
- Use re:SearchGA for online access when a public case search is enough.
- Contact the clerk for certified copies, dispositions, final divorce decrees, or older files.

Lower Court Review
Superior Court may review certain lower-court errors by certiorari or direct review when Georgia law allows. Magistrate Court research is a good example. Its civil appeals go to Superior and State Courts, and criminal convictions are reviewed by Superior Court through certiorari. That does not make every lower-court case a Superior Court case. It means a later review record may be filed in Superior Court after the first case began in Magistrate or another limited court.
When searching for review records, look for the lower-court case number, parties, date of judgment, and the type of review filed. The Superior Court file may show the petition for review, certificate of service on lower judiciary, certificate of payment of costs, orders, and final review result. The underlying lower-court file may still be held by the original court.
